Photography of graffiti writers in action has, in the last years, become almost a genre. Well-informed in the field, Ayala is the first female voice since the pioneer Martha Cooper, and contributes to this chorus with a sensitive and deliberate view.
The series In Madrid, produced in one of the cities in the world with a more agressive presence of fast street graffiti, is a collection of nocturnal landscapes, somewhat unreal because of the combination of cold and warm lights, in which the graffiti writer in action is only a small detail, invisible but for the unhurried observer.
The artist thus gives a visual interpretation of the relation of the graffiti writer with the environment and the people: hidden but present, dwelling in the shadows, working relentlessly always beyond the corner of our eye.

La fotografía de escritores de graffiti en acción se ha convertido en los últimos años casi en un género. Buena conocedora del campo, Ayala es la primera voz femenina desde la pionera Martha Cooper, y aporta al creciente coro una mirada tan sensible como deliberada.
La serie En Madrid, producida en una de las ciudades del mundo más castigadas por el graffiti rápido de calle, es una colección de paisajes nocturnos, irreales por la mezcla de luces frías y cálidas, en los que el escritor de graffiti en acción es solo un pequeño detalle, invisible excepto para el observador pausado.
La artista interpreta así visualmente la relación del escritor de graffiti con el entorno y con la gente: oculto pero presente, habitando las sombras, trabajando sin pausa siempre más allá del rabillo de nuestro ojo.
